Shift is happening all around the world. Lead the way at the conference. Feel free to quote me as much as you want. I really do think the Trend Report can help people facing the Shift

Thanks David! We are actually talking about cultivating the "entrepreneur within you" or those who are working for you. Time to take off the cultural shackles that hold back creativity and engagement. We have included your generous offer to our members in our resource guide, and will re-issue it post conference too. I also suspect you will be quoted more than once in the presentations! We are making the SHIFT! Joni

Joni- Thank you for joining the converrsation. To answer your question, here are some thoughts that I have been recently discussing.
1. Unemployment will cross 10% and will stay high for another year. For those in the job market I have been suggesting that they BECOME THEIR OWN JOB, not look for one. This is particularly true if someone has an amount of accomplished work experience. As we go through this reorganizational recession, it will take time for the new Shift Age jobs to replace those from the prior ages. In addition, the hospitality industry will not experience much growth for the next two years. Define your job as what you are good at and what you love to do. Be a free agent through the turbulent times. You are your own best security.
2. With all the new technological innovation, the cost of starting a business is dropping close to zero. You can start with a $200 netbook and rent storage in the clouds. It has never been cheaper to launch a business with potential global reach than it is today.
3. specifically for the restaurant industry, what is it that one can do for some aspect of that industry that is service but not employment.

No silver bullets, but hopefully some grist for the mill. Good luck with the conference. May attendees subscribe to the Shift Age Trend Report. That would be my final recommendation.:-)

Good morning David. Always great to have access to your expertise and thought leadership. We are working on our presentations for #PRBPC and one of the topics is Capitalism 2.0 and the New Workforce. Any visions for either that you are willing to share with us? Joni
