This weekend I started a part of my 30 Day Bucket List that had been evading me like a mouse evading a cat: Meditation. It seemed every time I had the chance to go to a class it was cancelled, wife or child was sick or the President needed me to review his re-election marketing plan. Either way it slipped through my slender fingers.
I was able to do it this weekend though but the meditation I attended was so much more than that. It was something I had never even thought about attending before. It was New Moon Circle. It was in place to welcome in and prepare us humans for the new moon in Cancer.
It became a therapy session of sorts and I shared it with 5 extraordinary women (yes, I was the only guy there-strike up the violins!) and an exceptional guide named Vanessa Codorniu. She opened us up to what we need to focus on in the upcoming month (GREAT! a sub-Bucket List! LOL) and how to maximize the universal energy to benefit us best.
It was about releasing - leaving the parts and people of your life who no longer serve your life plan behind and moving forward. Not from the perspective that they are wrong for not joining you but from the self-responsibility that you must continue on. Own and be responsible for your choices, as you set intentions that move you forward along your life path. Release with love and forgiveness not anger and judgment.
New moons are a time for setting new intentions, planting seeds of desires that will flourish and grow as the moon travels back into her full light where we weed the garden of our desires and allow them to mature as the cycle continues. Cancer is about Home and family, mom, and nurturing ourselves and others. We learn our first lessons from parents and home, siblings and extended family members. Once we have the lesson we can release the Human and move on to higher dimensions of learning and growth.
Everyone's experience was of course their own, as it should be but what I walked away with was a sense of relief for the weights of the last few weeks. Plus I gained a relationship with someone who I think will help me on my personal path to wellness. The universe sent me Vanessa and I have every intention of seeing what that reason is. The energy is good. The situation positive. And she understands community.
Week 3 of my 30 Days begins...Let's ROCK!
